Tattoos Gather

May 20, 2009, Halifax, NS: The annual meeting of the International Association of Tattoo Organizers (IATO) will be held in Halifax on the weekend of July 4th - 5th as part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations.

Formed in 1997 in Hamburg, Germany, IATO represents all of the major Tattoos and Police Shows in the world.

The Halifax meeting is expected to be attended by 40-50 delegates from Tattoos and Police Shows in Canada, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, Korea, the United Kingdom and the USA.

The founding members of the Association were representatives from the world's eight major international productions - The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, The Edinburgh Military Tattoo, The Netherlands National Tattoo, The Hamburg Police Show, The Berlin Military Music Festival, The Swedish Military Tattoo, The Norwegian Military Tattoo and The Virginia International Tattoo.

Other productions that may be represented include: The Hamilton Tattoo, The Quebec City International Festival of Military Bands and Fortissimo from Canada, The Windsor Tattoo from the United Kingdom, the Heerlen Tattoo from the Netherlands, The Bremen Tattoo, the Kiel Police Show, the Neumünster Police Show, The Wiesbaden Police Show and the Targe of Gordon Military Tattoo from Germany, The Kremlin Zoria from Russia and the South Africa Tattoo.
