May 20, 2009, Halifax, NS: There will be performers from Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.

After over a decade the United States will be in the show again! The Middlesex County Volunteers Fife & Drum Corps, from Massachusetts will bring the Stars and Stripes back to the Metro Centre.

There are many other exciting performers from all around the world. The Royal Fire Brigade Band Malmo Sweden will be here. From Belgium we have the Royal Band of the Belgian Air Force and from the UK the Regimental Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Welsh. Continuing what has been a tradition for a quarter of a century, there will be a German band - Wehrbereichsmusikkorps I (the Band of Military District Number 1), from Neubrandenburg. The Hamburg Police Motorcycle Team, also from Germany is sure to add excitement and spectacle.

In addition, from France, the Paris Police Gymnastics Team and from Estonia Club Piruett, both firm favourites with audiences on their previous appearances and after a gap of a few years, by popular demand, the Copenhagen Police Band from Denmark. Also from Estonia, the circus group Trick Factory will be a fine new addition to the line up.

As ever, the very best of Canada will be on display in the Metro Centre: the scarlets of the National Ceremonial Troop of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Band and Continuity Drill Team of the Ceremonial Guard and the Land Force Atlantic Area Band; the dark blues of the Stadacona Band of Maritime Forces Atlantic and the National Band of the Naval Reserve; the light blues of the Central Band of the Canadian Forces, the Air Command Band and the Band of 438 Squadron and it will all be topped off with the tartans of the Massed Pipes and Drums and Dancers.

There will be a Tri-Service Obstacle Race and a Jeep Competition. The Tattoo Choirs and Dancers will be joined by La Baie en Joie Acadian Dancers and the Titans Gymnastics Club. Soloists Brenna Conrad, Jason Davis and Derrick Paul Miller have all become great hits with our audience over the past few years.

The Tattoo will be marking 30 years since Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother first opened the show in 1979. Also being marked are the 100th Anniversary of powered flight, the 60th Anniversary of NATO, and the 65th Anniversary of D-Day.
